According to the biography of Korla Pandit (1921-1998), this organist and early television star was born to a French opera singer and a Brahmin Indian priest. He was actually born in St. Louis, Missouri to an African-American family and was raised in Columbia, Missouri. His father was a Baptist pastor. Korla Pandit's Christmas album, Merry Xmas, is often considered to have one of the worst album covers ever.
