Persian Muslim theologian, Sufi mystic and poet JALAL AD-DIN MUHAMMAD RUMI جلال‌الدین محمد بلخى (1207-1273) was born on September 30.

"What you seek is seeking you."

Rumi was a poet, scholar, and Sufi mystic whose writings on love, spirituality, and the search for divine truth have inspired readers for centuries. Born in what is now Afghanistan and later living in Konya, in present-day Turkey, he composed thousands of verses, including the celebrated Masnavi, often regarded as one of the masterpieces of Persian literature. His poetry emphasizes compassion, inner transformation, and the unity of all people. After his death, Rumi's followers founded the Mevlevi Sufi order, known for their trance-like repetition of the name of God called dhikr and their whirling dervishes.

My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that, and I intend to end up there.
