Mario Pearson’s Schola at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is one of the lesser known, but finest coral ensembles in Kansas City. They will be presenting their “Lenten Choral Music Experience,” Interlude in the Desert March 20 at 7 P.M. on this episode of The KC Arts Beat Report, Mario takes Patrick Neas through the program, which includes music from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to today. He also shares a beautiful Motet by Hildegard von Bingen, sung by the Schola with soloist Lyra Pherigo. Tickets are $10-$30, but Mario says those who cannot afford the ticket price are still welcome.
