IT’S THIS SUNDAY!! - PRAIRIE CLASSICAL PRESENTS RAGTIME!

On this episode of The  KC Arts Beat  Report, Patrick  Neas talks with violinist Destiny Mermagen about RAGTIME, Prairie Classical’s joyful season finale. The concert features rags by Scott Joplin and James Scott, alongside sparkling works by Johann Strauss II and Leroy Anderson such as Pizzicato Polka, Jazz Pizzicato, and Plink, Plank, Plunk.

Mermagen will be joined by her husband, cellist Michael Mermagen, and Prairie Classical’s Side‑by‑Side Orchestra, a string orchestra of professionals and students, for this one‑hour celebration of rhythm, elegance, and American musical invention.

Ragtime will take place Friday, May 31 at 6 PM at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6306 Roe Avenue, Prairie Village, Kansas. A reception follows the concert.
